Tour to Australia 2005 - St Anselm College
St Anselm College will be touring Australia, taking in
Sydney and Canberra whilst here.
The group will arrive in Australia on Monday 15 August, and
depart on Friday 26 August.

The Saint Anselm College men’s basketball program is making
its first ever trip to Australia. Head Coach Keith Dickson’s
Hawks are coming off a very successful year that lived up to
their preseason hype. Entering the season ranked ninth
nationally in Division II by several prominent basketball
publications, the Hawks posted a 24-7 record.
Saint Anselm swept through the conference tournament to claim
a record sixth tournament title. The conference title gave
Saint Anselm a bid to the NCAA Tournament as well, marking the
14th time the Hawks have advanced to the ‘big
dance’.
Three players earned post season accolades for their play; Jim
Moore, Matt Cahill and Jim Holsworth were named to the
All-Northeast-10 Conference Teams. All three stars will be on
the Australian Tour. Last season, Moore averaged 19.4 points
and 6.9 rebounds while shooting better than 51-percent from
the floor. Cahill added 16.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game
while Holsworth tallied 14.2 points and 4.7 assists per game.
Looking to benefit from increased playing time will be a pair
of sophomore-to-be guards in Jeff Dickson and Junior Mitchell.
6-foot-11 junior-to-be Ian Stringer (Rotherham, England)
figures to see plenty of time and will give the Hawks a
rebounding and shot-blocking presence underneath the basket.
Juniors Tim Wall, Greg Cummings and Frank Gilroy also figure
to see increased playing time, as the Hawks cannot bring
incoming freshman players on this trip by rule of the NCAA.
The Hawks are also hoping that Tyrell Dortch will be able to
play after having to sit out the entire 2004-05 season with a
knee injury.
